Crypto Exchange Gate Ventures into Prediction Market Arena with White-Label Platform for Businesses

Gate’s New Event Contracts Builder: Shaping the Future of Prediction Markets

As prediction markets gain popularity, businesses are increasingly looking to incorporate forecasting tools into their applications. Gate, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Panama, aims to meet this demand with its new infrastructure that allows companies to easily integrate these features into their products. Launched in August, the Event Contracts Builder is part of Gate’s decentralized exchange infrastructure, Gate DexBuilder, and is available to brokers, Web3 applications, and trading platforms.

Jason Fung, head of Gate DexBuilder, emphasizes that this solution enables companies to integrate prediction market functionalities without investing heavily in technological resources. This innovation comes at a time when prediction markets are becoming a significant method to gauge public sentiment, with platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket leading the industry.

Gate initially entered the prediction market ecosystem as a partner with Polymarket, integrating the Polymarket Builder tool. This experience inspired Gate to develop its own competitive offering. In addition to the Event Contracts Builder, Gate has also initiated a $3 million grant program aimed at supporting the development of event contract products, covering costs related to technical assistance and marketing for selected projects.

A Journey from Gaming to Crypto

Before his foray into cryptocurrency, Jason Fung spent years in media and entertainment, focusing on gaming. His roles included positions at BroadBandTV and the esports website Azubu, and he later worked for tech giants like Alibaba and ByteDance in China. His entry into the crypto scene coincided with the 2021-2022 boom and bust period, leading him to explore various Web3 projects. Feeling disillusioned by that experience, Fung transitioned to more stable roles at the Sei Foundation and AP Finance, the U.S. arm of Bybit.

In July, he joined Gate with a vision to expand the company’s global presence. Although Gate operates remotely, it maintains hubs in Hong Kong, Japan, Dubai, and Malta, as well as its North American entity, Gate U.S.

With these developments, Gate positions itself as a significant player in the evolving landscape of prediction markets, offering innovative solutions and support to businesses looking to adapt and thrive in this new arena.
