Sensient Flavors & Extracts Launches New Fermentation Technologies for Dairy Culture
USA – Sensient Flavors & Extracts has unveiled Amberferm Grow 288 and 289, two innovative yeast-based fermentation technologies. These are aimed at helping dairy culture manufacturers enhance output, improve culture performance, and support product development without the need for additional capital investment.
The introduction of these solutions addresses a significant challenge in dairy culture production: maximizing fermentation efficiency while responding to the rising demand for cultured dairy products, such as yogurt and cheese.
Key Benefits of Amberferm Grow 288 and 289
Sensient claims that these technologies are versatile, suitable for various dairy culture strains, and have shown notable improvements in fermentation yield and culture activity. Remarkably, in some cases, the new solutions have managed to double the yield compared to traditional fermentation nutrients, allowing manufacturers to boost output using their existing fermentation infrastructure.
Amberferm Grow 288 and 289 provide advantages in three primary areas:
- Fermentation Yield
- Product Activity
- Downstream Application Optimization
When used as fermentation nutrients, these solutions have also improved packed cell volume yield, enabling manufacturers to produce more culture without the need for infrastructure expansion. Moreover, Sensient has highlighted enhanced acidification activity in dairy cultures, which can contribute to better performance of finished dairy products.
Supporting Innovation and Efficiency
Beyond enhancing existing production processes, Sensient’s offerings can facilitate product optimization and innovation. They support maintaining culture performance while improving fermentation efficiency or developing new applications.
“Our goal was to move beyond simply creating another yeast extract. We aimed to develop a fermentation ingredient tailored for the needs of dairy culture manufacturers,” said Gayathri Venkat, Senior Innovation Manager at Sensient BioNutrients.
This launch aligns with a broader trend among food and beverage manufacturers exploring efficient technologies that meet the evolving consumer preferences for dairy and dairy alternatives. Sensient’s fermentation solutions specifically target the need for increased output in dairy culture production, allowing producers to maximize their existing manufacturing capabilities.
“We want to help our customers do more with less,” emphasized Bhakti Pande, General Manager of Sensient BioNutrients. “The Amberferm Grow products offer powerful solutions for dairy culture manufacturers, particularly in light of current consumer demand for dairy products.”
Amberferm Grow 288 and 289 are now available in North America and Europe. Sensient BioNutrients is part of Sensient Technologies Corporation, which focuses on developing fermentation nutrition solutions and specialty ingredients for food and beverage applications.
