Etnia Eyewear Culture Appoints Massimo Vian as CEO

Barcelona—Etnia Eyewear Culture has announced the appointment of Massimo Vian as the new CEO. This strategic move aims to accelerate the national and international growth of the company’s brands, which encompass Etnia Barcelona and its four independent labels: lool, Pellicer, Moi Aussi, and The Readers.

This appointment marks a significant milestone, occurring 25 years after the founding of Etnia Barcelona, and reflects the company’s ambition to elevate its global presence. Vian will oversee the management and execution of the overall group strategy, focusing on strengthening their B2B channel, which primarily consists of independent opticians.

David Pellicer, the founder and owner of Etnia Eyewear Culture, stated, “The addition of Massimo Vian is a significant step for Etnia Eyewear Culture, as he will help us accelerate our growth and consolidation at an international level.”

Pellicer will transition into the role of executive chairman, remaining actively engaged in the company while directing its long-term strategy and creative identity. This leadership structure aims to merge the independent spirit of Etnia Eyewear Culture with the capabilities necessary for international growth.

Vian, who brings over 20 years of experience in the eyewear and fashion sectors, has held prominent positions at Gucci, Prada, and Luxottica. He emphasized Etnia Barcelona’s unique brand identity and the importance of enhancing the organization’s capabilities while preserving its distinctive approach to luxury.

Etnia Eyewear Culture currently operates in over 50 countries with a network of 15,000 optical retail locations worldwide, backed by a team of more than 650 professionals across offices in Barcelona, Miami, Vancouver, and Hong Kong.
