The Drifter, developed by the independent Australian studio Powerhoof, tells a gripping story of a wanderer entangled in a deadly conspiracy. After witnessing a murder, the protagonist is drowned by high-tech soldiers, only to awaken and fight for survival while uncovering a plot involving shadowy corporations.
Recognized for its innovative design, The Drifter won multiple awards, including Game of the Year at the 2025 Australian Game Developer Awards and was released on PC in July 2025, with later versions on Nintendo Switch launched in June 2026.
Story Kitchen is expanding its portfolio of video game adaptations, already working on Tomb Raider projects for Prime Video and Netflix, as well as a film based on Just Cause and an adaptation of Streets of Rage.
