China’s Summer Travel Surge Begins to Cool Down

China’s summer travel season saw a decline this year due to softer demand and a shorter peak travel period. From July 1 to August 31, railways managed 954 million passenger trips—an increase of only 1.2% compared to the previous year, and below the anticipated 1.01 billion trips. Meanwhile, airlines recorded 151 million passenger trips during this period, marking a 2.9% increase as reported by the Civil Aviation Administration.
