Northwest Naturals is recalling two raw pet food products due to potential contamination with Salmonella and Listeria. This voluntary recall affects 53 cases of the Frozen Chicken Recipe for cats and dogs and 19 cases of the Frozen Raw Diet for Dogs Chicken Recipe, sold nationwide.
Details of the recalled products:
- Frozen Chicken Recipe: 2-pound bag, Lot B-5, Best By date January 26, 2028.
- Frozen Raw Diet for Dogs Chicken Recipe: 6-pound bag, Lot B-19, Best By date January 25, 2028.
FDA testing confirmed the presence of Salmonella in the chicken recipe and both Salmonella and Listeria in the dog food. Fortunately, no illnesses have been reported.
Pet owners are advised to stop feeding these products to their pets and return them for a full refund. It is also recommended to wash hands and clean all surfaces after handling raw pet food to prevent potential contamination.
