Nova ZZXC Tire Overview
The Nova ZZXC is an innovative tire introduced by Nova Motorsport, specifically designed for Cross Car (XC) racing. This marks a significant expansion for the brand, which has traditionally produced products under the well-known Avon Motorsport label.
Key Features
-
Mixed-Surface Compatibility: The ZZXC enhances Nova’s existing range that includes successful Rallycross (RX) and Autocross (AX) tires.
-
Asymmetrical Tread Pattern: The rear tire can be mounted on either side of the vehicle, simplifying pit stops by requiring only one spare tire for both sides.

-
Durability and Traction: The rear tire features larger outer shoulder blocks for enhanced durability, while a more open inner pattern promotes traction on varied surfaces.
-
Adjustable Profiles: Tire pressure adjustments can vary the tread profile for optimal performance in dry or wet conditions.

- Directional Front Design: The front tires maintain a directional tread pattern, with an arrow-shaped central block for better cornering performance.
Development and Testing
Developed by a team with extensive experience in competition tires, the ZZXC underwent rigorous testing at Circuit Parc de la Serra, Spain, led by David Méat, a three-time FIA European Cross Car Champion. The tire was evaluated on various criteria, including traction, acceleration, and durability, and was benchmarked against competitors.
“The traction off the start was particularly strong, which gave me confidence through corners and braking areas,” said Méat after testing.
The tire was officially unveiled at the Rallycross France Championship in Lohéac, France, in August 2026.
