Concert Cultural Evolution SKCF 2026: A Celebration of Kenyah Culture
MIRI: Kenyah music, dance, and cultural expressions will take center stage at the Concert Cultural Evolution SKCF 2026. This event, organized by the Persatuan Kebangsaan Kenyah Sarawak (PKKS), coincides with the Sarawak Kenyah Cultural Festival (SKCF) and will take place on September 3 at the Grand Ballroom, Forum Cultural Centre.
Theme and Performances
Under the theme “Celebrate the Rhythm. Experience the Culture,” the concert will feature a diverse lineup of performances. Attendees can look forward to:
- Traditional and contemporary music
- Sape’ performances
- Cultural dances
- Solo acts and ensemble presentations
- Modern interpretations of Kenyah performing arts
Vision and Goals
Aaron Alan, the organizing chairperson, emphasized that the concert serves not only as entertainment but as a platform for performers to showcase the Kenyah cultural identity to a broader audience. He noted, “Concert Cultural Evolution is about celebrating where our culture comes from while recognizing how it continues to grow.”
This event aims to highlight that cultural evolution involves embracing one’s roots while allowing creativity to keep traditions alive across generations. The Sape’, a significant instrument in the musical heritage of Sarawak’s Orang Ulu communities, will be prominently featured throughout the program.
Encouragement for the Younger Generation
The concert also aims to provide greater visibility for local artists, musicians, dancers, and emerging performers, while encouraging youth to take a more significant interest in their cultural heritage.

Concert Cultural Evolution is a key highlight during SKCF 2026, scheduled from September 1 to 4 at the Forum Cultural Centre. Ticket prices are as follows:
- Category A: RM50
- Category B: RM30
- Category C: RM20
- Free Entry: For children aged 12 and below.
