Aerospace engineering firm PLD Space has raised an additional €108 million (approximately $125 million) in its ongoing equity funding round, bringing the total to €288 million. This funding is part of the company’s efforts to enhance its rocket launch capabilities, especially for the MIURA 5 launcher. The new capital will aid in industrialization, commercialization, and developing launch infrastructure.
The round is led by Mitsubishi Electric, which also participated in a previous €180 million funding round in March. Other contributors include Spain’s COFIDES, Endeavor Catalyst, and the Spain Oman Private Equity Fund.
In a significant milestone for the company, PLD Space successfully launched Europe’s first fully private rocket in 2023. The cumulative funding for the company now stands at €488 million.
