YPF is set to develop a 70-million cu m/day (MMcmd) Integrated Gas Treatment Plant (IGTP) in the Meseta Buena Esperanza block of Neuquén province, requiring a $2.1 billion investment and expected to start operations in 2030.
Key Details:
- Location: 22 km from Plaza Huincul, Neuquén province.
- Production Sources: Supported by three blocks—Las Tacanas, Meseta Buena Esperanza, and Aguada Villanueva.
- Well Development: Approximately 1,416 wet gas wells across 330 pads, connected by 300 km of trunklines.
- Processing Capacity: Initially 50 MMcmd (1.77 bcfd) with potential expansion to 70 MMcmd.
- Facility Layout:
- Block 1: Gas reception, separation, condensate treatment, and produced-water handling.
- Block 2: Gas treatment units, utilities, and operational buildings.
Infrastructure:
- Pipelines:
- 48-in. pipeline for treated gas to FLNG units (520 km).
- 24-in. pipeline for unstabilized condensate to an export facility.
- Land Use: 54.9 hectares for IGTP within a larger 174.9-hectare industrial site.
- Flare Systems: Four systems covering 15.4 hectares.
Utilities:
- Power Supply: Four gas/diesel turbine generators with a total of 95.16 Mw capacity.
- Water Supply: An aqueduct from the Neuquén River, capable of transporting 29,000 cu m/day, with an average demand of 5,064 cu m/day.
Timeline:
- Engineering: A SACDE-Tecnimont consortium will handle detailed planning.
- Construction: Planned between 2027 and 2030, pending final investment decision by year-end.
- FLNG Operations: Expected to commence by 2031.
This ambitious project showcases YPF’s commitment to expanding its gas processing capabilities in the region.
