Derby County Manager Responds to Potential Investment from Turki Alalshikh
Derby County manager John Eustace has addressed the club’s imminent investment deal with billionaire Turki Alalshikh, a notable figure in the Saudi government and prominent player in the boxing arena.
Eustace acknowledged the flurry of media speculation surrounding the investment but emphasized the importance of focusing on the team’s preparation rather than the ongoing discussions about ownership. “I have spoken to the club, and they have mentioned there is a takeover. But I think there have been about three takeovers since I’ve been here,” he pointed out.
He stressed that his priority remains getting the squad ready for a competitive start to the season, especially after finishing eighth last season—a commendable achievement in a league filled with teams eager to improve. Eustace expressed the need to bring in the right players to keep pace with rivals who have maintained and bolstered their squads.
“Until something is done, I will take it seriously,” he concluded, laying down his commitment to ensuring the team’s readiness for the challenges ahead.
