Toyota to Invest $3.6 Billion for Plant Expansion in Texas
New York, July 6 (Jiji Press)—Japan’s Toyota Motor Corporation will invest $3.6 billion to expand its plant in San Antonio, Texas, by adding a new vehicle assembly line, as announced by a U.S. subsidiary.
The company plans to transfer the production of the Tacoma pickup truck, a popular model in the U.S., from Baja California, Northern Mexico, to San Antonio, which is expected to create approximately 2,000 jobs in the area.
