Announcement: New Nutritionist Appointment
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Saunders as the club’s new Nutritionist!
Tom joins the team at the Deva Community Stadium with an exceptional educational background, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Sports & Exercise Science and a Master’s degree in Sports Nutrition from Liverpool John Moores University.
During his time at university, Tom completed placements at the DP World Tour and Nutrition X, before stepping into his first full-time position as the Lead Performance Nutritionist at the Robbie Fowler Education & Football Academy.
He then transitioned to The UTS Live Well as the Manager & Lead Performance Scientist, where he founded and managed an advanced wellness facility, focusing on performance nutrition and recovery services.
Phil Parkinson, on welcoming Tom, stated:
“I’d like to introduce our new part-time volunteer Nutritionist, Tom Saunders. He will be collaborating closely with the players, performance department, and medical team throughout the season.
“One of our key objectives in creating a high-performance environment is to identify the 1% marginal gains that can collectively lead to significant improvements in both individual and team performance.”
“Tom’s role is essential in helping players enhance their performance, recovery, consistency, and availability throughout the season. Those who optimize every component of their preparation are typically the ones who reach their full potential.”
Welcome to CH1, Tom!
