On April 20th, preliminary fencing was installed around the old Chart Records and D.C. Fitness locations at 125, 129, and 131 North Vermilion. According to Danville’s Director of Public Works, Dave Ruwe, actual demolition work is expected to commence later this week. The operations will proceed from north to south, starting with the northernmost site, Chart Records.


Upcoming Projects
In addition to the current demolition, the City has additional plans to tear down the old Millikin Cleaners at 605 and 615 North Vermilion, as well as the Studio 25 site at 124 and 128 North Walnut. Ruwe noted that these projects will be undertaken by different contractors and will follow separate timelines.
