Flawless, a company specializing in “assistive AI” tools tailored for the film industry to enhance the performances of human actors, has recently appointed Amit Kapur as its co-CEO.
With a rich background in technology and entrepreneurship, Kapur has been a member of Flawless’ board since 2024 and previously served as an adviser. He now joins co-founder and filmmaker Scott Mann in the co-CEO role. Nick Lynes, who co-founded Flawless and previously held the co-CEO title, will transition to the position of chairman.
Founded in 2019, Flawless has garnered support from industry labor groups, such as SAG-AFTRA, and its innovative tools have been utilized in numerous productions across major Hollywood studios. Notably, in 2025, Flawless facilitated the first-ever theatrical release of a visually translated film, Sweden’s “Watch the Skies,” making it accessible to American audiences without the need for subtitles. Upcoming releases that will benefit from this technology include award-winning titles like “Tatami,” Berlinale opener “The Light,” and South Korea’s “Smugglers.” The company has also formed partnerships with Avid, incorporating its AI tools into their software, as well as with localization firms Deluxe and Pixelogic.
Kapur’s professional journey began in business development and strategy at Universal Pictures. In 2005, he joined MySpace, eventually rising to COO and playing a pivotal role in transforming the platform from a startup into a highly profitable global entity. He co-founded Gravity in 2009, a groundbreaking AI personalization company, which was acquired by AOL for $100 million in 2014. Following this acquisition, Kapur served as president of AOL’s Publisher Platform.
In addition to his new role at Flawless, Kapur invests in and advises several technology startups. He most recently held an executive position at venture-capital firm Redpoint Ventures and earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
Lynes expressed that he “spent a long time looking for a top-tier operator to help scale Flawless” before successfully recruiting Kapur for this role. He stated, “Scott and I needed someone who shared our vision and operational approach, and we found that and more in Amit. He initially wanted to advise before committing to the co-CEO position, but after two years of collaboration, he has grown increasingly convinced. Amit is now a close friend and an essential part of our leadership, having consistently demonstrated his capabilities alongside us. He is fully aligned with our mission to enhance the filmmaking process with Assistive AI, and we cannot wait to achieve even greater success together.”
Kapur expressed his commitment to Flawless, drawn by the company’s focus on “ethical AI and its strong ties to both science and the film industry.”
Reflecting on his journey with Flawless, Kapur stated, “Nick, Scott, and I have developed a unique partnership over the past few years. Starting as an adviser, then joining the board, and now fully committing myself, I believe we will continue to transform film for the better together.”
In addition to his responsibilities at Flawless, Mann is a director in the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and a writer in the Writers Guild of America (WGA), known for his work on titles such as “Fall,” “Heist,” “Final Score,” and “The Tournament.” Lynes, a seasoned tech entrepreneur, has successfully launched several innovative products and platforms, including a cryptographic software system for the gaming industry that was insured by Lloyds of London.
Flawless offers a suite of AI-driven tools, including TrueSync, designed to enhance dubbing processes while supporting dubbing actors and localization experts. Additionally, their DeepEditor expands post-production capabilities, further enhancing the editorial process. These products operate in harmony with the company’s Artistic Rights Treasury (ART), a platform dedicated to ensuring that actors and artists retain full control and consent over their performances.
