Survey Reveals 80% of Swedes Enjoy Coffee Daily

Eight out of ten Swedes regularly enjoy coffee, with filter coffee remaining the clear leader in preference. Furthermore, many consumers still view coffee as a great deal. These insights come from the third installment of the Löfbergs Coffee Report, which provides an in-depth analysis of coffee consumption trends in Sweden.

“Swedes are profoundly dedicated to their coffee rituals. The consistently high levels of coffee consumption underscore the deep-rooted coffee culture in Sweden,” comments Anders Thorén, Head of Corporate Communications at Löfbergs.

<h2>Filter Coffee Still the Clear Favourite</h2>
<p>Filter coffee continues to dominate the Swedish coffee scene, with 70% of respondents indicating it as their most frequently consumed type. Moreover, 85% of coffee drinkers reported having filter coffee in the past month, significantly outpacing instant coffee, which ranks second at 25%.</p>
<p>When asked about the preferred time for coffee consumption, 68% of participants identified the morning as the most important time, followed by 18% who chose late morning and 6% who favored the afternoon.</p>
<p>"For many Swedes, filter coffee is a staple of their morning routine. Previous findings indicate that 55% enjoy their first cup before 8 a.m., showcasing how coffee plays a vital role in waking up the nation," states Anders Thorén.</p>

<h2>Coffee Retains Its Perceived Value</h2>
<p>Despite the price of coffee rising over the last year, the majority of coffee lovers still believe they are getting good value for their purchase. In fact, 61% consider today’s retail price to be low or a good deal, and 79% continue to drink the same amount of coffee or even more.</p>
<p>"Swedish consumers clearly hold coffee in high regard. The survey highlights that coffee is the beverage people are most willing to spend on compared to juice, milk, soft drinks, and energy drinks," explains Anders Thorén.</p>
