New pet scanning kiosk installed at Spring Hill dog park

New Tool for Lost Pets at Spring Hill Dog Park

SPRING HILL, Tenn. — A local dog park in Spring Hill is now equipped with a microchip scanner station to help reunite lost pets with their owners, thanks to a community service project by Girl Scout Troop 2813.

On November 2, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously approved a resolution to accept the scanner station, following the troop’s donation of the equipment as part of their Silver Award project, which is a prestigious achievement for Cadettes.

The microchip scanner can be found inside Evans Park, specifically next to the Barkley Dog Park. This initiative was recommended by the Parks and Recreation Commission and has garnered strong support from city staff.

In addition to the microchip scanner, a dog tennis ball station has also been approved for installation near the scanner.

“The girls worked closely with city staff on this project and completed it on September 24. These stations are a wonderful addition to our dog park and a great service to the community,” said Kayce Williams, Spring Hill Parks and Recreation Director.
