The seventh Petjoy Fashion Week in Shanghai recently concluded, showcasing diverse pet fashion collections and innovative experiences that reflect the growing pet consumption market. Highlights included matching outfits for humans and pets, an exotic pet runway show, and the introduction of AI virtual fitting services.
The event illustrated the dynamism of Shanghai’s pet fashion scene. With annual growth in the pet market expected to be around 10 to 15 percent, per-pet spending is among the highest in the country, averaging between 500 to 1,000 yuan per month. In total, 187 pet economy events have been held in the city since October 2025, establishing the biannual Petjoy Fashion Week as a catalyst for regional economic growth.
