The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) in Sadar Hills has issued an urgent travel advisory for Kuki-Zo civilians, urging them to avoid traveling outside Kuki-inhabited areas due to security concerns in Manipur. The advisory, released on October 30, highlights the need for residents to restrict movement beyond community territories until further notice, aiming to prevent potential civilian casualties.
This precautionary measure comes in the wake of heightened tensions following the abduction of two Kuki-Zo youths along the Senapati-Kangpokpi district boundary. CoTU emphasized that no journey is worth risking a life and that the protection of civilians is the top priority.
The restrictions will remain in place until the security situation improves, and residents are encouraged to exercise caution during this uncertain time.
