Florida Mother Taken into Custody for Reportedly Abandoning Her Four Children During Business Trip

The article discusses a Florida mother, Irene Miller, who was arrested for leaving her four children home alone for an entire week while she traveled to Nevada for work. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reported that the situation escalated when one of the children, a 9-year-old boy, was injured by a dumbbell at home, prompting a 911 call from a sibling.

Upon investigation, deputies found all four children—ages 9, 11, 12, and 14—home alone without supervision. Miller was charged with four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm and was taken into custody upon her return to Florida on October 23. Following her arrest, she was booked into the Orange County Jail. Authorities reached out to the children’s father, who then took them in.

Bodycam footage was released showing deputies escorting Miller off a plane and into custody. Miller allegedly claimed she had hired a babysitter to check on her kids, but this was disputed by the conditions the children were found in.
