Tesla has started offering public rides in its Cybercab, a compact electric robotaxi, in select areas of Austin, Texas, with plans for a broader market launch. Additionally, it showcased the vehicle at the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
### Design
The Cybercab features a minimalist design, resembling a two-door coupe with a futuristic teardrop shape aimed at aerodynamic efficiency. Its front design draws similarities to the Model Y but has distinct differences in headlight design and bumper angles. The vehicle stands out with its lack of rear windows and a unique rear hatch that houses a Starlink V5 antenna. It has varying wheel sizes – 18 inches in front and 21 inches in back – enhancing its sporty appearance.
### Interior
Inside, the Cybercab’s minimalistic approach continues with wide seats reminiscent of lounge chairs and a floating center console. A large touchscreen controls various functions including door operations and ambient settings. There are no traditional controls, steering wheel, or pedals, creating a spacious atmosphere that redefines the passenger experience.
### Specifications
Pending exact length details, the Cybercab measures 69 inches in width and 55.4 inches in height, with a ground clearance of 5.7 inches and 20.2 cubic feet of cargo space. It boasts a 219 hp front-mounted motor, a battery capacity of approximately 50 kWh, and a projected range of 280 miles, all weighing 3,113 pounds.
### Price & Release Date
The Cybercab is expected to retail around $30,000 and might be available in the U.S. market by early 2027 or sooner.
