‘Isolated Dog’ Finally Finds a Home After Three Years in a Shelter

A dog named Sadie, rescued from a property in Cornwall where she was kept with 200 other dogs, has finally found a loving home after spending nearly three years in kennels. The RSPCA described the five-year-old Collie cross as “Britain’s loneliest dog,” as she faced delays in adoption due to legal issues.

In an effort to find her a permanent home, the RSPCA shared daily videos of Sadie on social media, catching the attention of Mabel Edge from Devon. Mabel, touched by Sadie’s sweetness, visited her multiple times at the RSPCA center before deciding to adopt her.

Mabel and her partner understood that Sadie would need patience and care due to her past experiences, but they felt confident they could provide her with a happier life than she had known in the kennels. Upon bringing her home, Sadie quickly settled into the family, showing signs of comfort and trust.

The previous owner of Sadie received a jail sentence and a lifetime ban on dog ownership. This heartwarming story comes amid concerns from the RSPCA about rising cases of neglect involving multiple animals across the UK.
