Top Dawg Entertainment Successfully Appeals Doxxing Allegations from Sexual Assault Claimants

Top Dawg Entertainment has won a legal battle after a California appeals court ruled that two women, who accused its executives of sexual misconduct, cannot proceed with their claims that the company improperly revealed their identities. The court overturned a lower court’s decision and dismissed the doxxing claim brought by Linda Luna and Ayah Altayri.

The women had initially filed their lawsuit in December 2024 under pseudonyms, claiming that executives Brandon and Anthony Tiffith, along with employee David Harrell, sexually assaulted and harassed them. The matter escalated when Top Dawg publicly denied the allegations in February 2025 and identified the women by name, leading to accusations that the label violated California’s Doxxing Victims Recourse Act.

While a Los Angeles judge initially allowed the claim to proceed, the appeals court found that the women had not formally requested to remain anonymous before the label’s public statement. The court acknowledged the serious nature of the allegations but emphasized that it was the responsibility of the plaintiffs to seek anonymity promptly. Additionally, the judges determined that Top Dawg’s statement fell under California’s fair report privilege, protecting accurate assertions about judicial proceedings.

As a result, the appeals court ordered the lower court to dismiss the doxxing claim but allowed the underlying sexual misconduct lawsuit to continue. Top Dawg, known for launching the careers of artists like Kendrick Lamar and SZA, has denied all allegations of misconduct. The ruling does not address the truth of the allegations, leaving the broader lawsuit unresolved.
