Green Bay Fire Results in Tragic Loss of Pets
GREEN BAY (WLUK) – A fire on Green Bay’s east side resulted in the loss of three pets on Friday.
At approximately 4 p.m., the Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the 300 block of Windward Road. Upon arrival, crews discovered a significant hole in the kitchen floor and extensive damage to the cabinetry.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the remaining smoldering areas and conducted a thorough search of the home, during which they sadly found three deceased pets. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among firefighters or residents.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department urges homeowners to keep combustible materials away from cooking appliances and to ensure stovetops are clear when not in use. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
