Update on Switch Ports of Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire from Insider Sources

Two leakers have recently shared updates on the anticipated Nintendo Switch ports of Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire, classic games released on GameBoy Advance in 2003 that introduced Generation 3 and the Hoenn region.

Earlier this year, the ports garnered attention, similar to the recent release of Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen. Light88, known for their accurate leaks, claimed that the release date for the ports would be October 8, but that date has come and gone, leading Light88 to apologize for the misinformation while reaffirming their trust in their sources.

CentroLeaks, a reliable source for Nintendo news, has stated that they do not expect the ports to release in October at all. Recent developments, such as Pokemon HOME linking with FireRed & LeafGreen on Switch, suggest potential for more GameBoy Advance ports, raising further speculation.

Additionally, hints from official Pokemon social media accounts may have teased a release, with a short video featuring legendary Hoenn Pokemon Rayquaza. Earlier predictions indicated a late September or October release for the ports, with dataminers uncovering mentions of Emerald, Sapphire, and Ruby in the Switch emulator.

As of now, the ports remain unconfirmed and are still speculative until there is an official announcement.
