Joe Rogan extends his lucrative podcast agreement with Spotify.

Spotify has renewed its deal with Joe Rogan, who hosts “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the platform’s most popular podcast with 18 million followers. Although the specifics of the new multiyear licensing agreement are undisclosed, sources cite an estimated value of $250 million.

Rogan expressed his enthusiasm about continuing the partnership, stating it has been a great fit. Since first signing an exclusive deal with Spotify in 2020, reportedly worth $100 million, Rogan’s podcast has significantly contributed to increasing Spotify’s podcast audience.

In 2024, the show’s distribution was expanded to other platforms, maintaining its status as a top podcast across major services like YouTube and Apple Podcasts. However, “The Joe Rogan Experience” has also faced challenges, including a boycott by Neil Young over concerns of COVID-19 misinformation and past controversies involving Rogan’s use of racial slurs. In response to backlash, Spotify updated its content policies and Rogan committed to presenting a more balanced perspective. Young has since returned to the platform.
