The Council on Aging of Central Oregon has kicked off its annual Food Fur All fundraising campaign to support the Pet Pals program, which assists local seniors in caring for their pets while addressing their own health needs. This program provides veterinary care and is aimed at seniors who are enrolled in Meals on Wheels.
Emma Fried-Cassorla, the communications director for the Council on Aging, emphasized the significance of pets in the lives of seniors, especially those who may feel isolated or lack transportation.
Over the past four years, the Pet Pals program has assisted more than 350 individuals and 550 animals across areas from Warm Springs to Klamath County. Donations can be made to the Council on Aging through their donation link.
