Xbox Cloud Gaming and GTA 6: Clarification on Streaming Availability
Key Highlights
- No PC Streaming: Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will not be available to stream on PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
- Corrected Misinformation: Matthew Ball took to Twitter to clarify that while GTA 6 will be available on Xbox, it won’t be streamable to PCs. The game is slated for release on November 19, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Statement from Matthew Ball
In his Twitter statement, Ball addressed the excitement surrounding GTA 6 and the associated rumors, saying:
“While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC.”
Implications for Players
This news may disappoint fans eager to bypass consoles for PC gaming, particularly since the PC release timeline for GTA 6 remains uncertain. Historically, Rockstar has delayed PC releases after initial console launches—seen previously with GTA 5, which debuted on PC in 2015.
