Unison Energy has secured a five-year, $120 million credit facility with JPMorgan Chase Bank to enhance its distributed energy and on-site power generation portfolio. The agreement includes a potential $50 million accordion option, allowing for additional funding as Unison develops new projects.
Based in Greenwich, Connecticut, Unison provides on-site power generation under an Energy-as-a-Service model, targeting critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centers, and industrial facilities. Its approach aims to lower energy costs, improve resilience, and reduce carbon emissions without upfront capital investment from customers.
The financing, structured as a flexible warehouse-style facility, allows Unison to adapt its borrowing base by adding or removing projects based on specific requirements. In addition to lending, JPMorgan will also serve as Unison’s hedging provider and depositary bank.
Since being acquired by Tiger Infrastructure Partners in 2024, Unison has undergone significant changes, including leadership shifts and asset expansion. The company is positioning itself to capitalize on increasing electricity demand and the need for reliable power solutions, particularly for energy-intensive facilities.
Key quotes from UNison’s CFO, Al Dahya, and Tiger Infrastructure’s COO, Marc Blair, emphasize the strategic importance of the financing and the positive outlook for Unison’s growth. JPMorgan also expressed its commitment to supporting Unison’s future expansion efforts.
