Ukraine’s “LANDING” Documentary Featuring Frontline Skateboarders Set for Brussels and Paris Film Festival — UNITED24 Media

The Ukrainian documentary LANDING will be screened in Brussels on October 27 before competing at the Paris Surf and Skateboard Film Festival from November 27 to 29. This film, created by the Street Culture Development Center in Okhtyrka, focuses on the community-driven creation of a DIY skatepark called Krytka during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The Brussels screening, hosted at the Beursschouwburg arts center with support from the European Endowment for Democracy, will gather European diplomats and Ukrainian cultural activists to discuss the role of youth culture in rebuilding frontline communities. The event will feature the documentary, a panel discussion, an exhibition of photographs from Okhtyrka, and opportunities for networking.

Following the screening in Belgium, LANDING will be featured in the competitive program at the Paris Surf and Skateboard Film Festival, vying for the Best Skateboard Film award. The film’s international journey follows its debut at the Suomifornia festival in Helsinki, where it garnered attention from various figures in skateboarding and urban culture, highlighting the challenges faced by young people in conflict-affected areas.

Overall, LANDING serves not just as a film but as a testimony to resilience and community spirit in times of adversity.
