Caring for exotic pets, like fennec foxes, requires special attention and understanding of their unique behaviors. Recently, a fennec fox was caught on video making biscuits, a behavior common in cats. This cute fox displayed familiar feline traits while getting cozy in a blanket.
Interestingly, fennec foxes belong to the canine family but can exhibit behaviors reminiscent of both cats and other animals. One observer humorously noted that this fox had “dog hardware, cat software, and a dolphin sound card,” highlighting his adorable, multifaceted nature.
Kneading, or “making biscuits,” can be comforting for animals and is often practiced by young fox kits and kittens to stimulate milk production. This behavior may release feel-good hormones, making it a natural instinct.
Fennec foxes, known for their impressive digging skills and large ears, use these traits to thrive in their natural habitat. Observing a fennec fox making biscuits is certainly a rare and delightful sight!
