Pumpkins Palooza Family Celebration Returns
Halloween spirit is officially back in the air as Nevada City Rotary announces the return of the Pumpkins Palooza Family Celebration on Thursday, October 15, 2026. This family-friendly event promises a night filled with activities, including scrumptious raffle drawings and auctions.
Scavenger Hunt
From now until October 14, residents and visitors can participate in the Pumpkins Palooza Scavenger Hunt. Vibrantly painted pumpkins created by local artists will be on display at various businesses in the area. Tom Ryan, Pumpkins Chair, shares that these unique designs originated from pumpkins and gourds sourced from BakBraken Acres Farm and The Haunted Pumpkin Patch.
Taste of the Town Raffle
This year’s lineup also features the Taste of the Town Restaurant Raffle. The Grand Prize is a $1,000 package consisting of ten dining certificates from local favorites, ensuring a full season of meals without the hassle of dishes! For those not lucky enough to win the grand prize, there will also be “Bite-Sized” drawings offering smaller bundles of restaurant certificates from notable eateries like Lola’s, Cirino’s, and Sushi in the Raw.
The raffle is exclusive, selling only 100 tickets at $100 each, giving participants remarkable odds of winning compared to typical raffles. Tickets can be purchased from Nevada City Rotarians or at the event.
Community Impact
Club President Andrea Mason expressed excitement about this year’s celebration, emphasizing that proceeds will support important youth and community service projects, as well as Rotary’s mission to end polio globally.
Key projects supported include:
- The Dolly Parton Imagination Library for local children
- A Girls Who Code STEM Club at Seven Hills Middle School
- Scholarships and hands-on volunteer initiatives
