Ben Affleck recently expressed deep respect for his second ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, during an interview. While promoting Lopez’s film Kiss of the Spider Woman, Affleck shared his admiration for her talents, stating, “I’m biased. I have an enormous amount of respect and admiration for what she can do.”
He commented on the subjective nature of awards in Hollywood, noting, “What I’ve found with awards is that sometimes the degree of commercial success doesn’t always correlate to my taste.” Affleck emphasized that awards are often determined by a group of people voting, which can lead to varying interpretations of what constitutes the “best.”
In discussing the evolving nature of artists’ careers, Affleck acknowledged that both Lopez and his first ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, have successfully created and marketed their own brands. He added, “Don’t think that’s not real work. I couldn’t do it. What am I going to do, unbox something?”
While Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024 after two years of marriage, the two have managed to remain amicable and have been seen together at events since their split.
