The first-ever Crafts in Cars Street Fair in Pahrump showcased a diverse array of artistry and drew significant community interest. Organizer Denise Souder expressed plans to return next year, aiming for an even bigger event. Local crafters Denise Souder and Sharon Stacks coordinated the fair, which exceeded expectations in terms of turnout and organization.
Held at the Bob Ruud Community Center, the fair featured approximately 60 artists and 43 vendor spaces, offering a vibrant marketplace reminiscent of a trunk-or-treat format, but focused on craft vendors. Several local businesses, including Gemini Gems Jewelry and Shaky Canvas, highlighted homegrown talent, emphasizing the importance of community exposure for home-based artisans.
Live entertainment from local talents, including dancers and musicians, added flair to the event. The fair also supported a food drive for the Nevada Outreach Training Organization and raised $500 through various fundraising activities. Overall, the event fostered community spirit and showcased local creativity, leaving attendees eager for next year’s installment.
