Four Energy-Based Weapons Chosen for Counter-Drone Initiative – Association of Defense Communities (ADC)

The Joint Interagency Task Force 401 has chosen four energy weapon systems to test as part of a drone defense initiative. These systems aim to enhance multi-layered defense strategies against drones. The selected partners and their systems are:

1. AeroVironment Palletized High-Energy Laser system
2. Epirus Leonidas High-Powered Microwave system
3. Kord Firefly High-Energy Laser system
4. Boeing Compact Laser Weapon system

U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Matt Ross emphasized the importance of these technologies for operational testing, stating that they will help integrate and sustain effective drone defense capabilities.
