New Round1 Entertainment Venue Coming to Wheaton
Published on October 7, 2026
Round1 Bowling & Arcade has officially secured a permit valued at $4.6 million for its new location at Westfield Wheaton, promising to transform the former Hollywood East Cafe space into one of Montgomery County’s largest indoor entertainment venues.
The nearly 49,000 square-foot facility will feature state-of-the-art bowling lanes, imported arcade games from Japan, over 100 crane machines, private karaoke rooms, billiards, and a variety of interactive attractions. Alongside entertainment, guests can enjoy Japanese cuisine, classic arcade snacks, and a full bar for those aged 21 and over.
Since earlier this year, “Coming Soon” signage has been prominently displayed at the mall, and in August, Round1 appeared before Montgomery County’s Alcohol Beverage Services Board as part of its development process.
This new Wheaton location will mark Round1’s second establishment in Maryland, following the opening of its Towson Town Center venue in December 2019. The Wheaton venue is expected to open sometime in fiscal year 2027 (from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027), although an official opening date has not yet been provided.
For more details, the permit’s value was initially reported by Maryland Newsletters.
