SWK Energie, the municipal power company of Krefeld, has launched an electricity plan specifically for gamers called meinGAMING. This plan offers a higher fixed monthly fee for a lower price per kilowatt-hour, making it more economical for users who consume around 2,500 kWh annually. The plan is designed with gamers in mind, but it could also benefit households with heat pumps or electric vehicles.
For example, in the postcode 51381, the pricing is set at 25.01 cents per kWh with a €23.67 monthly base fee, a €100 new customer bonus, and a price guarantee for up to 24 months. However, the per-kWh rate may vary based on demand and sign-ups.
It’s important to note that most gaming PCs alone may not reach the 2,500 kWh threshold. For a high-performance GPU like the RTX 5090 running 30 hours a week, the annual consumption would be around 900 kWh.
Additionally, the power provided under this plan is 100% renewable, sourced from European hydroelectric plants. Potential customers in Germany are encouraged to compare this plan with regular tariffs available in their area before making a switch.
