Community Comes Together at Clinton County SPCA’s Fall Pet Extravaganza
LOCKPORT — This past Saturday, Riverview Park turned into a hub of joy and camaraderie as pets, families, vendors, and animal lovers gathered for the Clinton County SPCA’s annual Fall Pet Extravaganza. The event, held on October 3, was more than just a fundraiser; it celebrated the bond between community and animal care.
The day was filled with fun activities, including local vendors, food trucks, family and pet photos, a mini petting zoo, and even a caricature artist. A $15 microchip clinic catered to pet owners keen on ensuring their furry friends were safely identified.
After the festivities, organizer Crissy expressed immense gratitude to everyone involved. “Another Fall Pet Extravaganza is in the books,” she shared in a Facebook post, acknowledging vendors, donors, volunteers, and staff who contributed to the event’s success. Most importantly, she thanked the community members who attended: “I loved seeing so many familiar faces, so many SPCA alumni and many new faces too!”
While fundraising is important for the SPCA, the community aspect is what makes the event truly special. Crissy noted, “Of course this event helps support our animals, but one of my favorite parts has always been simply bringing our community together.” Attendees echoed this sentiment, with many expressing their joy in seeing friends and family while supporting a good cause.
The event served as a reminder of the vital community support for the SPCA’s year-round efforts. Crissy emphasized the impact of spending even one day with the organization, stating, “There are 365 days in a year, and it means so much to me that you chose to take one of them and spend it with us.”
The Fall Pet Extravaganza also highlighted the SPCA’s commitment to animal care beyond adoption, showcasing their work in rescue, rehabilitation, and compassionate end-of-life care. Through this gathering, the SPCA aimed to strengthen its bond with the community, reinforcing the message of gratitude: “From the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing up, supporting us, and being part of another amazing Extravaganza.”
In essence, Saturday was not just a day for pets and families; it was a celebration of compassion, community, and the shared love of animals in Clinton County.
