Dave Portnoy Withdrawn from Major College Football Program

Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports will no longer appear on Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” pregame college football show. A source disclosed this to the Associated Press, asking to remain anonymous due to the lack of a public announcement. The Athletic first reported the news.

Portnoy stated on social media that the decision stemmed from pressure from Ohio State and its coach, Ryan Day, who allegedly made threats regarding Portnoy’s comments. He hinted that the financial stakes played a role in Fox’s decision, expressing understanding for their choice given the ongoing conflict with Day.

Fox Sports did not comment on the situation, and Ohio State directed all inquiries to Fox. Portnoy began his appearances on “Big Noon Kickoff” last fall after Fox and Barstool formed a partnership. Despite this change, Barstool continues to host a live two-hour morning show on FS1.

Portnoy, a Michigan graduate, has previously criticized Ohio State, claiming the school barred him from entering its stadium for a game. Ohio State clarified that only their main crew was permitted access during event planning with Fox.
