BNA Autumn Break Travel: Essential Information You Should Have Before Departure

Flying out of Nashville for fall break? Here’s what you need to know:

Arrival Tips

  • Come Early: Airport officials advise arriving at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights.
  • Check Flight Status: Always check the status of your flight before leaving home.

Busy Travel Period

  • BNA’s busiest travel period is from October 1-26, with peak days on October 4, 11, 18, and 25.

Traffic & Parking Changes

  • Terminal Garage 1: The exit is closed; use connections on levels 2-6 to reach Terminal Garage 2.
  • Rental Cars & Valet: A new traffic signal directs drivers; use Exit 216B from I-40 for valet parking.
  • Economy Lot B: Reworked entrance/exit on Terminal Drive; keep in the far-right lane.
  • Central Core: Level 5 is closed; pedestrian access is available on Level 1.

Additional Information

  • Wait for Arrivals: Use the free cell phone waiting lot at 1415 Murfreesboro Pike instead of circling Terminal Drive. Allow 20-30 minutes after landing for passengers to reach the curb.
  • Parking Fees: First 30 minutes in terminal garage parking are free; longer stays cost $18 for 30 minutes to 1 hour, and $36 maximum for full day.

Security Measures

  • Increased TSA Staff: Expect additional space for security lines, with canine screening during busy times.

This is part of BNA’s $3 billion New Horizon expansion program. Safe travels!
