Middle East Travel and Tourism Updates

TUI has unveiled a new Boeing 737-8 aircraft named “Varna,” turning the Bulgarian coastal city into a representative for the country’s Black Sea coast. This initiative aims to promote Varna’s beaches, cultural diversity, and affordability across TUI’s international network.

During the naming ceremony, Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Dr. Ilin Dimitrov emphasized Bulgaria’s growing appeal as a holiday destination, particularly for families. He expressed gratitude to TUI for their partnership, highlighting the aim to enhance air connectivity to attract more European tourists.

TUI Airline is responding to a surge in demand for Bulgarian holidays by increasing flight capacity. Popular areas like Varna and Golden Sands, along with Burgas and Sunny Beach, are sought after for their long beaches and all-inclusive options.

Michael Reusch, CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management, noted the significance of the aircraft naming for Varna Airport and the potential for improved air connectivity, thanks to a newly approved incentive scheme.

TUI continues to expand its offerings in Bulgaria, with the GRIFID Noa Hotel in Varna being one of its top properties. The Boeing 737-8 reflects TUI fly’s commitment to fleet modernization and sustainability.
