Wynonna Judd Reacts to Rosie O’Donnell’s Comments
Wynonna Judd expressed shock after friend Rosie O’Donnell labeled her a supporter of Donald Trump during an episode of the podcast “The Tangle with Kyle Ridley” on August 11. O’Donnell stated Judd was the only exception to her rule of avoiding Trump supporters.
In an interview with People, published on October 2, Judd said, “I’m in shock, just so you know,” emphasizing she had never discussed politics with O’Donnell. She described herself as “independent” and was confused by the assumption.
Judd explained her aversion to political discussions, stating, “I just don’t want drama.” She expressed a wish for people to “just love each other” amidst the world’s chaos.
Rosie O’Donnell, in a statement, clarified that her assumption stemmed from Judd performing at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago in November 2023. O’Donnell apologized, saying, “I just thought… she was [a Trump supporter]. I apologize if I was wrong.”
Despite their differing views, O’Donnell shared her affection for Judd, stating, “I’ve known her for many, many years… for some reason I’m able to put that aside when we interact.”
Their friendship dates back years, with Judd frequently appearing on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.”
