Family names Fort Wayne Zoo’s baby giraffe in tribute to their beloved pet.

The Fort Wayne Zoo recently introduced its newest giraffe named Mac, born on August 10. Mac is the offspring of giraffes Faye and Ezeji and joins a herd of seven others. The name was selected by the Atkins family, who bid for the naming opportunity during the zoo’s annual Zoobilee event. They chose “Mac” in honor of their late dog, whose legacy has positively impacted over 1,500 animals and inspired community care for wildlife.
