Rainn Wilson Visits 11:11 Sabores del Pueblo
Last month, the local Woodland Mexican restaurant 11:11 Sabores del Pueblo welcomed a surprise guest: actor Rainn Wilson, famous for his role as Dwight Schrute in NBC’s The Office.
A Surprise Visit
Miguel Larios, the owner of the restaurant, shared how unexpected this visit was. Originally closed on Wednesdays, the team decided to open that day due to being closed for Labor Day. A local musician, JB Eckl, called to inform Larios that Wilson, who was driving down I-5, wanted to dine at their establishment after seeing positive reviews.
Larios initially did not recognize Wilson, as he and his staff aren’t very familiar with American television. However, they soon felt honored when they learned about his identity.
A Memorable Experience
Wilson was described as kind and curious. He expressed interest in the menu, particularly in their traditional birria and handmade tortillas. After trying the food, he remarked that it was among the best tacos he had ever eaten.
11:11 Sabores del Pueblo, established on December 5, 2024, aims to offer authentic Mexican flavors in a welcoming environment. Located at 154 W Main St. in Woodland, the restaurant has been working hard to build its reputation and customer base.
Looking Ahead
As Larios approaches the second anniversary of the restaurant, he is optimistic about reaching more customers and spreading visibility. Despite a challenging first year, community support has played a crucial role in their success. He hopes to continue sharing the magic of their Mexican cuisine, emphasizing the importance of authentic tastes and a homey atmosphere.
Hours of Operation: Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (closed on Mondays).
