Miranda Lambert makes a comeback with her country-disco album ‘Crisco,’ featuring upbeat tracks filled with ‘plenty of joy.’

Miranda Lambert Enters Her Disco Chapter with New Album “Crisco”

Miranda Lambert is stepping into a vibrant new phase of her musical journey with her latest album, Crisco. This 11th studio release, which drops Friday, embraces a lively blend of country and disco, featuring boogie-forward tracks enhanced by orchestral strings. Lambert describes this record as a reflection of her current joyous life, moving away from her typical fiery and heartbreak-themed songs.

The title track sets the tone, with lyrics celebrating the fusion of country and disco, while expressing her newfound creative freedom. “I just felt like I, maybe at this point, earned the creative freedom to try something fun and try something different,” she says.

The album’s release comes on the heels of Lambert’s nomination for six Country Music Association Awards, a disco-themed performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards, and her writing credit on the six-time platinum hit “Choosin’ Texas,” which made history on Billboard charts.

Lambert co-produced Ella Langley’s album Dandelion, marking her first time producing another artist. She finds an inspiring connection with Langley, citing her fiery spirit and artistic determination. Additionally, Lambert has squashed past tensions with fellow artist Kacey Musgraves, collaborating on “Horses and Divorces” for Musgraves’ new album.

The sound of Crisco was inspired by her collaboration with Chris Stapleton on a previous project, expanding her musical horizons. Lambert believes country music is thriving now, with more diverse voices being heard than ever before, making it a great time for artists in the genre.
