For over four years, I’ve had the pleasure of serving as a moderator at NC and have been writing the Sunday Morning Movie posts for a year and a half. Discovering NC while exploring the Internet was a revelation; it felt like stumbling into a treasure trove of insightful information, a refreshing change from the often misleading coverage in mainstream media. Whether you found yourself drawn in immediately like I did or took a little longer, please consider contributing to the Tip Jar!
Many of you may remember me as a lively commenter under the moniker “jr.” I appreciated the blend of witty sarcasm and thoughtful dialogue that thrived on the site and always strived to add value to our conversations. My commenting journey was truly enjoyable.
Now, I’ve transitioned to new ventures, such as the Movie post. The idea struck me one fortunate afternoon in 2025. As I often browse YouTube, I noticed I could access a plethora of free movies. Why not share them? I pitched the concept to Yves, and she was on board. Soon after, the Bonus section emerged, and I learned just how powerful a well-curated YouTube algorithm could be—mine had been inundated with unworthy content. Initially small, the section has grown significantly, offering a wealth of quality material.
I select my film choices and bonus content based on one fundamental principle: Naked Capitalism attracts a variety of knowledgeable minds. Our audience is unafraid to think creatively, challenge traditional views, and embrace innovative ideas. Therefore, I strive to provide a diverse array of media that both inform and entertain. I carefully curate topics based on the preferences I’ve gathered over the years—from various philosophies, art and cinema, and full music albums spanning different genres, to quirky animations and other eclectic gems. I remain ever vigilant in my search for fresh genres to explore.
And that summarizes the Sunday Morning Movie experience. My sincere thanks to everyone who has engaged with the films; your feedback and suggestions are invaluable. Let’s reconvene here next Sunday! And remember to visit the Tip Jar! Your contributions help support more movies and delightful bonus content!
