Applegreen Launches its Inaugural Colorado Travel Plaza in $70M E-470 Expansion Project

Applegreen recently inaugurated its first travel plaza in Parker, Colorado, located approximately 20 miles southeast of Denver. This opening marks a significant expansion for the company, which plans to open three additional plazas in the state: one in Aurora and two in Commerce City, all along the E-470 highway.

In August 2025, Applegreen announced a $70 million investment to build and operate these four new service plazas in the Denver area. The Parker store features popular dining options including Panda Express, Shake Shack, and Starbucks, complemented by an Applegreen convenience store.

Andy Malik, President of Applegreen’s U.S. operations, emphasized that this opening signifies the company’s growth in the U.S. market and marks its entry into Colorado, the 11th state for Applegreen. The company currently operates 108 highway sites across the U.S. and has plans for more travel plazas without additional tolls for customers entering or exiting.

Furthermore, Applegreen successfully completed a major renovation project along the New York State Thruway, investing $450 million to enhance all 27 service areas.
