A 21-Year-Old Fortnite Champion Donates Computers to Young Gamers and Launches a Fund for Future Support

Cody “Clix” Conrod: Empowering Future Gamers

Cody Conrod, a 21-year-old Fortnite competitor and popular Twitch streamer with over 8 million followers, is on a mission to support aspiring professional gamers. After dropping out of school in eighth grade to focus on esports, he understands the financial hurdles facing newcomers in the industry.

His newly launched Dr3amin Access Fund will formalize his efforts, which include providing hundreds of thousands of dollars in gaming equipment through an annual holiday giveaway. As the gaming landscape grows more competitive, the costs of necessary equipment, like high-performance PCs, have skyrocketed, making it harder for newcomers to get started.

Conrod’s journey was not easy; he recalls struggling with outdated equipment when he began gaming at age five. After making approximately $200,000 from tournaments, he decided to fully commit to his esports career at just 14—exemplifying the sacrifices he and many gamers make to pursue their passions.

Through initiatives like the Dr3amin Access Fund and the Clixmas giveaway, he aims not only to ease the financial burden on young gamers but also to legitimize esports as a viable career path. By sharing his success stories, Conrod hopes to inspire parents to support their children’s ambitions in competitive gaming.
