Your Pet Ought to Be in Pictures!

Imagine your pet in full color on the cover of The News-Item Pet Calendar!

Here’s How It Works:

1. Submit Your Photo: Bring in or send a high-quality, sharply contrasted color photo of your pet.

2. Voting: Our readers will choose the “Pet of the Year” through a quarter vote. The top 13 vote-getters will feature in our 2027 pet calendar.

3. Prizes: The “Pet of the Year” will grace the cover, with 12 others appearing in months throughout the calendar.

Rules:

1. Photo Submission:

   • Send your photo to Kimberly Glennon, Pet Calendar, c/o The News-Item, P.O. Box 587, Shamokin, PA 17872.
   • Or email to promotions@newsitem.com with subject line “Pet Calendar.”
   • Photos should be in JPEG or PDF format.
   • Include your pet’s name and your name.

2. Information:

   • Lightly PRINT your name, address, daytime phone number, and your pet’s name on the back of the photo. Ensure it’s clear and legible.
   • Photos will not be returned unless accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope.

3. Deadline:

   • Photo submission deadline is October 29, 2026, at NOON. NO EXCEPTIONS!

4. Voting Process:

   • Pet photos will be published in early November with a ballot for voting. The voting deadline is November 25, 2026.
   • In case of a tie, a coin toss will decide the winner. Winners will be notified by phone.

5. Eligibility:

   • Employees of The News-Item and their families are not eligible to win.
