A Florida woman, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, has been indicted for allegedly attempting to kill Rihanna by firing a semiautomatic rifle at the singer’s home. The incident occurred on March 8 while Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, and their three young children were present inside. No injuries were reported.
Ortiz faces serious charges, including one count of attempted murder and multiple counts of assault with a weapon. She has pleaded not guilty, with bail set at $2.65 million. If convicted, she could face life in prison. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for October 29.
Prior to the shooting, Ortiz had mentioned Rihanna in social media posts and had a history of legal issues, including a previous arrest for domestic violence in 2023. The Los Angeles County District Attorney emphasized the gravity of shooting at an occupied home.
